Job Summary:
Candidate must be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time and change quickly from one type of task to another with attention to detail. (e.g. answering the telephone and making an appointment at the same time).

Attend a variety of training on the Epic EMR system to become proficient in all areas of the Epic EMR system (scheduling, registration, scanning, clinical navigation, and documentation) to be able to function and utilize the EMR system properly, effectively, and efficiently.

Performs check-in and check-out process for patients using EMR system (Epic).

Schedule all new patients; follow up appointments and other patient testing as requested by the provider.

Responsible for sending written correspondence for appointment changes and no-show letters to patients.

Responsible for reviewing the next days' patient schedule to make sure that the schedule is appropriate regarding the time allotted to each patient type. (i.e. new patients have been allocated additional time, etc.) Responsible for processing all schedule changes and communicating with physicians regarding schedules.

Calls patients to verify appointments for the following day from the schedule.

Participates in the filing of information and maintenance of the medical records for patients not scheduled for the following day after the information has been reviewed by the attending physician as needed.

Speaks to patients about paying their co-payments or coinsurance payments. Hands out reminder letters to patients who are unable or unwilling to pay their balance due at the time they are seen. Reports patients who consistently do not pay biller and/or manager for further intervention.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree or pertinent college level courses and two years of administrative/office management experience. Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
