RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in New York, NY. Software developer role on the SecDB Language and Frameworks team, which is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the SecDB platform, the Firm’s proprietary risk management and pricing platform. Program using C and C++ on Linux and Windows. Maintain the existing risk management platform in production and fix reported bugs. Provide production support for the risk management platform. Tune the existing system to improve the performance and reduce the resource consumption. Design, develop, test and rollout new features to the existing system. Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior team members. Perform peer code reviews. Must be willing to work using proprietary language on proprietary systems. No knowledge of proprietary language or technology is required pre-hire.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field. Minimum five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related field. Prior work experience must include five (5) years of experience with: C++; The full software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, designing, coding, testing, deployment and production support; Scripting programming languages such as Python; Developing applications on both Windows and Linux; Collaboratively and effectively working with teams that are geographically dispersed; and Communicating effectively across multi-site development teams. Prior work experience must also include four (4) years of experience: Working with database technologies. Prior work experience must also include three (3) years of experience: Coordinating with business/technical stakeholders during development phase to influence design strategy and add value; and Gathering requirements for new functionalities in technical solutions.
